£4m update as Leeds United in transfer talks with Roma for Ola Solbakken

Leeds United are in talks with Roma as they aim to seal a deal for winger Ola Solbakken ahead of the 11pm deadline on Friday, according to the Daily Mail.

The English newspaper reported on its website on 1 September that talks continue with the Whites keen on sealing a deadline-busting deal.

It’s understood that the 24-year-old Norway international will cost the Elland Road outfit £4million to get the deal over the line.

Sinisterra replacement?

Luis Sinisterra appears to be on his way out of the club this deadline day with Bournemouth agreeing on personal terms with him.

It remains to be seen what Leeds can do to stop this deal from going forward and whether or not the Colombian will give in to their wishes.

He has gone on strike once already and could do the same thing again if he does not get his way.

Whether or not Solbakken wants to move to Leeds is another question altogether but the fact that talks are ongoing suggests a move could be on the cards.

The 24-year-old is a decent winger who won the Eliteserien Player of the Month award back in October 2021 and appears to be someone who’ll add value to this Leeds first team.

There’s a good chance that this deal hinges on Sinisterra or even Wilfried Gnonto so it’s one to play by ear.

In other Leeds United news, Phil Hay has spoken about Luis Sinisterra potentially leaving Elland Road on transfer deadline day.
