49ers to ‘pay new manager handsomely’ to keep Leeds United in the Premier League
Leeds United and the 49ers could be set to splash the cash to bring in a new head coach ahead of a season back in the Premier League.
The Whites will be back dining at the top table next campaign after being named as Championship champions with a win against Plymouth Argyle on Saturday (3 May).
Despite the success of winning the title on 100 points, Daniel Farke could still face the sack ahead of the summer at Elland Road.
Now, it has been suggested that money could be thrown at a new head coach by the 49ers to help Leeds remain in the Premier League next season.

49ers to financially back Farke replacement at Leeds United
It would be somewhat bizarre if Paraag Marathe pulled the sack trigger in LS11 after the year the Whites have had in the second tier.
To win the league against the likes of Scott Parker’s Burnley and Chris Wilder’s Sheffield United is no mean feat, especially with promotion on the line.
Position | Club | Games played | Goal difference | Points |
1. | Leeds United (C) | 46 | +65 | 100 |
2. | Burnley | 46 | +53 | 100 |
3. | Sheffield United | 46 | +27 | 90 |
This doesn’t appear to mean anything to the NFL giants in West Yorkshire as they could be set to make a decision irrespective of results.
This could see Farke face the chop with experienced Premier League coaches like Jose Mourinho linked with the role ahead of the new campaign.
With that in mind, Andy Gray has backed the Leeds hierarchy to make a decision to bring in a new boss live on beIN Sports (3 May).
He said: “If I’m the owner of Leeds and I’ve put my money into this project and I employed a coach to get us out of the Championship, and he’s done that, and I think for the future of the club I can get a better coach, a more experienced coach, someone who can get us success in the Premier League, I would make a change.
“I feel sorry for Daniel Farke, he’s done fantastically well. If I thought I could get a better person now, I would pay them handsomely.”
Leeds United risk success with Farke sack
After what has been such an electric and enjoyable season at Elland Road, sacking the German appears to make very little sense.
Farke did struggle in the top division with Norwich City, but had a generally poor squad and a lack of investment, which made relegation inevitable.
As a result, the 48-year-old deserves a chance to prove himself in the Premier League, especially with better quality players like Ao Tanaka and Ethan Ampadu in LS11.
Fans and players alike in Yorkshire are bound to want the manager to stay on regardless of what the 49ers or outsiders think.
