49ers to make £50m+ within days as Leeds United masterstroke emerges

The 49ers’ takeover of Leeds United has been announced – and the new owners could be about to earn millions at Elland Road.

There has been plenty of talk in recent weeks over players who could well be on their way out of the club with Tyler Adams, Jack Harrison, Brenden Aaronson and Rodrigo the most likely to depart.

The four players alone could earn Leeds a pretty penny.

The Sun report on 31 May that West Ham and Aston Villa are both lining up moves for Harrison, who nearly sealed a January exit to Leicester City. An exit for the 26-year-old will be expected. The Daily Mail reported on 24 May that Leeds valued the winger at around £35million.

Following the club’s relegation, that sum will be significantly lower – potentially around the £20million.

Another player who will more than likely leave is Adams. Newcastle and Nottingham Forest are interested in the midfielder, who is reportedly available for £30million (The Telegraph, 8 June).

Just looking at those two players, Leeds could potentially pocket upwards of £50million for the pair. Considering the 49ers have purchased the club for £170million, which was a discount from the £420million agreement had Leeds remained in the Premier League, they could already earn themselves a pretty penny.

Investment is likely to ensue, so concerns over the owners taking money out of the club can be quashed. But, from a business perspective, it seems like sensible work from the board.

Radrizzani will be kicking himself when he sees a number of high-profile departures occur at Elland Road.

In other Leeds United news, the EFL are still weeks away from given their official confirmation of the takeover deal according to Phil Hay.
