49ers tipped for ‘clever’ investment in Leeds United as ‘deadwood’ emerges at Elland Road
We’re delighted to welcome former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson as our exclusive columnist as each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United…
Paul Robinson believes the 49ers will look to invest cleverly into Leeds United during the 2023 summer transfer window.
The American Enterprises have now resumed control at Elland Road after reaching an agreement with Andrea Radrizzani for the sale of the club.
Robinson feels big summer is in the offing with a lot of “deadwood” to move on during the off-season.

“I think there has to be clever investment. I think the squad needs reshaping. There’s a lot of deadwood that needs to be moved on. However, there are a lot of players that would make very good Championship players,” he exclusively told MOT Leeds News.
“They need a manager who can identify players and reshape the squad and mould according to a squad they will feel is capable of getting out the Championship. The whole aim is to get out of the Championship.”

Leeds released their retained on 12 June with Adam Forshaw and Joel Robles both now in negotiations over new contracts at Elland Road.
Both players were important figures towards the end of the 2022/23 season after being recalled into the starting XI by Sam Allardyce.
The board are yet to conclude their managerial hunt, with Carlos Corberan and Daniel Farke set for further interviews next week.
In other Leeds United news, Sky Sports have shared that new player contract talks have begun at Elland Road already.
