49ers Leeds United breakthrough emerges as Andrea Radrizzani gets set to complete sale

Andrea Radrizzani is set to complete the sale of Leeds United to the 49ers Enterprises after a “breakthrough” was made at the start of the week, according to The Telegraph.

The Daily Mail reported on Tuesday 6 June that the sale of Leeds could be completed before the end of the week.

Leeds were initially meant to be sold in the region of £400million, however, following the club’s relegation, a deal in the region of £170million is on the cards.

The Telegraph now claim that a “breakthrough” was made between the two parties and that a deal could be finalised before the weekend.

Finally

This cloud that has been hanging over Elland Road looks like it’s finally coming to an end. For too long there has been uncertainty over when Radrizzani and the 49ers will reach an agreement – or if it would ever happen at all. Now, it’s about getting this agreement processed and completed as soon as possible.

The 49ers have a huge task on their hands. They have to hire a new sporting director, find a new manager and invest in what was a failed squad from last season. Furthermore, they will also be expected to propel Leeds back into the Premier League at the first attempt.

However, none of those things can happen until a deal with Radrizzani is completed. They need to act fast. Every day that passes without an announcement will impact the Whites’ Championship campaign. The second tier looks to back to its best next season, with there being eight or nine teams who have genuine ambitions of moving on.

In other Leeds United news, Phil Hay claims that a Whites senior player is now set to leave the club at a discounted fee post relegation and will not be signing a new contract.
