49ers Enterprises want Andrea Radrizzani out of Leeds United now after urgent talks – Phil Hay

The 49ers Enterprises want Andrea Radrizzani out of the club immediately after Leeds United were relegated from the Premier League, according to Phil Hay.

It has been reported by The Athletic journalist that the US consortium will only complete their takeover for a fair price, and if the Italian is out completely.

The 49ers are said to be ready to pay up to £170million after relegation was confirmed today, with urgent talks having taken place this week in their camp.

Writing in his latest piece for The Athletic, Hay shared what has happened behind the scenes after urgent calls taking place between investors.

“The spectre of relegation, and the realisation that it was probably coming this time, prompted 49ers Enterprises to initiate fresh discussions with Radrizzani about buying the club regardless of league status.

“Those negotiations have been ongoing for the past few weeks, urgent and tense.

“As time went on, the relationship between the two sides became more and more delicate and the US group is now clear on two things: that it will only buy at what it considers to be a fair price and that it wants Radrizzani to exit the building, as opposed to him continuing in an active, operational role as a minority stakeholder.

“A major call with the investment group took place this Thursday gone, with 49ers Enterprises still determined to bring a takeover to fruition in the worst-case scenario of relegation.”

Mess.

This has to happen, and it has to happen immediately.

Time will now fly until next season starts in the Championship, with a new manager, new players and new ownership all likely on the table between now and then.

Sam Allardyce will and should be out of the door after his embarrassing effort to save us with dreadful tactics and selection over the past four weeks, along with Radrizzani hopefully.

How the 49ers have stood by and watched this happen is beyond us, but with the possibility of relegation, there is no chance they would have paid the mega fee that was earlier agreed in case of Premier League survival.

This realistically should have been put in place before the season was over as a fall-back plan, but this is Leeds, so once again it is all a mess with no resolution quickly on the cards.

It will be changes galore again at Elland Road this summer, and it is desperately needed.

In other Leeds United news, David Prutton offered his assessment on the “ultimate slap in the face” to the club’s fans.
