49ers Enterprises set for wholesale changes as Leeds United news emerges

Dean Jones believes that Leeds United are on the verge of an exciting new chapter on and off the pitch, under 49ers Enterprises, as long as their Premier League status can be secured.

Whilst the full takeover is said not to be subject to the club remaining in the English top flight, it would obviously provide an immediate platform for progress rather than having to navigate the unpredictable choppy waters of the Championship.

Jones feels that the immediate fate at Elland Road is still in the balance, with the 49ers watching closely ahead of potential changes from the dugout to the playing side of things too.

The former Eurosport journalist told Give Me Sport in relation to the anticipated full takeover by the California-based entity, who are existing minority stakeholders in the club: “It feels like the sky is the limit for Leeds if they stay up this season.

“There could be a massive turnaround if they can ride this wave, but I don’t know if they will.

“But, certainly, from the dugout to the playing staff, I think they’re looking at it so closely, and they will step up their ambitions for next season in every single area.”

Immediate priority

Javi Gracia has presided over two wins, one draw and two defeats in his time in Yorkshire so far but those two losses have been on the road at Chelsea and Arsenal, respectively.

Starting on Tuesday 04 April against Nottingham Forest, four of the next five Premier League games will take place at Elland Road, providing a great chance to build momentum and put points on the board.

It is clear that there is plenty going on in the background at present, but matters on the pitch are the immediate priority for the fans.

With up to nine teams set to battle it out to avoid relegation, the climax to avoid the drop will be a dogfight. The Leeds fans will play their part to support Gracia’s side along the way and if they can achieve the objective of survival, it would provide the ideal platform for the anticipated changes at the club.
