49ers Enterprises behind Andrea Radrizzani purchase of Sampdoria in Leeds United takeover twist
Potential new Leeds United owners, the 49ers Enterprises appear to be helping Andrea Radrizzani’s purchase of Italian outfit Sampdoria in another fresh takeover twist, according to Il Secolo XIX.
According to a report in the Daily Mail [5 June], Leeds and the 49ers Enterprises are closing in on a takeover agreement with the American-based group valuing the club at a total price of £170million.
Radrizzani is understood to be willing to pass over control of Leeds to the 49ers, who already owned a 44% stake in the club as he seeks to complete a purchase of Sampdoria, and according to Calcio Finanza [7 June], that deal is close to being completed with the Italian outfit only needing a bank agreement for it to be finalized.

However, according to Il Secolo XIX [8 June] in another major takeover twist, the 49ers are involved with Radrizzani’s purchase of Sampdoria along with Qatar Sports Investment.
“The confirmation of the presence of 49ers Enterprises, already hypothesized at the beginning of this negotiation when Manfredi and Radrizzani spoke of ‘partnership’, gives further greater solidity to their plan,” they wrote.
“The QSI has officially declared that it is ready to support Radrizzani once the operation has been finalized and that Sampdoria has nothing more to do with the previous ownership of the Ferrero family.”
When will it end?
After promising news emerged this week regarding the potential full takeover of Leeds United by the 49ers being close to completion, that has now become clouded by another new twist in Radrizzani’s saga with Sampdoria.
With the club needing to move forward in the wake of their relegation from the Premier League, all the attention is now firmly on the Italian businessman and his controversial actions surrounding the use of Elland Road as security and his lack of care and clarity in regard to Leeds United.

Just when will it all end? That’s the call on every Leeds fan’s lips right now as the club attempt to usher in a new era, and there’s still the search for a new manager ongoing which needs to be completed fairly quickly.
The takeover between the 49ers and Radrizzani has been seemingly going on for an age, but it finally looks as though the Italian is willing to relinquish his control of the club which comes as some pleasing news to the Leeds United faithful but this Sampdoria saga seems to be holding the future planning back right now.
The Elland Road faithful simply cannot wait to see the back of Radrizzani. This past week or so has become incredibly tiresome.
In other Leeds United news, Patrick Bamford is now surely emptying his locker at Thorp Arch.
