£116.5m revelation shows Leeds United and San Francisco 49ers have questions to answer
Leeds United appear to have had the worst summer window compared to Leicester City and Southampton, the other two relegated sides.
While on paper, the Whites made some decent signings, they’ve not done nearly enough to recoup from players who left.
A lot of this can be attributed to clauses put in by Victor Orta, but better planning could’ve taken place with regard to some of the outgoings.

Sky Sports journalist Mark McAdams shared on Twitter, “Championship relegated sides spending: Leicester City Spent £28.5m Received £94m Southampton Spent £25m Received £141.2m Leeds Spent £12m Received £24m.”
While McAdams is way off in terms of the amount spent as Leeds spent far more than £12million, the other part of the graphic makes for grim reading.
On average, both Southampton and Leicester made £116.5million from their sales while the Whites did less than four times that.
This comes after they had their biggest January transfer window in history and also broke their club record on Georginio Rutter.

The Frenchman, who’s struggled since his move to Elland Road, was linked with a move away, could’ve been cashed in on.
That money could then have been spent on signing new players this summer.
Telefoot journalist Saber Desfarges claimed that Borussia Dortmund were looking at him and Leeds had a chance to make some good money from that deal.
Even with Cody Drameh, loaning him out made little to no sense as after two decent Championship seasons, they could’ve demanded a good transfer fee for him as he did not seem to be in Daniel Farke’s first-team plans.
The lack of money generated through sales has seen them being tight with the funds spent and failure to get back to the Premier League may have long-term consequences as it could see Leeds become an established Championship side again – something the owners would absolutely not want.
In other Leeds United news, the Whites tabled multiple enquiries to sign a multi-million international winger ahead of the transfer deadline.
