£1.73m claim made as Everton confident of signing Leeds United attacker Wilfried Gnonto
Everton are confident of securing the services of Leeds United attacker Wilfried Gnonto this summer, according to Calciomercato.
The Italian media outlet claimed on Friday (4 August) that it’s down to the final £1.73million in negotiations after a bid of £19million has been made by the Toffees.
The Merseyside outfit could now open talks to convince the Italy international, 19, to move to Goodison Park.

Keep him
Everton are in a mess right now and struggling to get deals over the line so Gnonto would certainly be cautious about joining them.
It’s understandable that he does not want to play Championship football but one season at his age is unlikely to do him any harm.
In fact, if he registers unreal numbers in the second tier, his valuation and popularity will skyrocket and he’ll even make a claim to be a regular starter for the national team.

He’s certainly among the better wide players in the Championship and will be fancying his chances if he does stay at Leeds.
The onus is on Daniel Farke to convince him to stay at Elland Road and hopefully, he’s managed to do that in the weeks he’s been at Elland Road.
Gnonto isn’t one to throw his toys out of the pram and that’s a good thing so if he does not get a move away, he’s likely to get down to focusing on his game and getting Leeds back to the Premier League.
In other Leeds United news, an update has emerged on the club’s pursuit to sign two centre-backs this summer with a winger now on the radar as well.
