‘You hate us and we love it’ – These Leeds fans fume at obsessed Sky Sports after latest article
Leeds United fans don’t like Sky Sports.
There’s a long-running battle whenever there’s a live game, with Sky often forced to pipe in crowd noise to drown out the infamous Leeds song.
It’s not helped when Sky Sports come out with articles that are inaccurate and seemingly designed to fit what fans see as an agenda against the club.
The latest was published yesterday, on the day that Leeds announced the signing of Jean-Kevin Augustin from Red Bull Leipzig.
Headlined, “Is Marcelo Bielsa’s quest for Premier League promotion under threat?” the article looked at why Leeds could fail to make it to the top-flight again this season.
One of the factors Sky claimed was the loss of Kalvin Phillips for three games with the journalist stating, “Brighton loanee Ben White, adept at centre-back or in front of the defence, is being readied to move forward to take the place of his team-mate, but having not played there yet this season, how he will fare in the next three games remains to be seen.”
Solid journalism right there. White was moved up to the defensive mid position when Phillips was suspended for the 2-0 win against Huddersfield.
The article also questioned the depth in the squad, but with Ian Poveda and Jean-Kevin Augustin added in the past couple of weeks, we’re more than happy with the players Bielsa has got.
Leeds fans were quick to point out the inaccuracies in the article and also to ask why Sky were so obsessed with Leeds when league leaders West Brom are on just a bad run of form.
Here are the best reactions from angry fans who will probably make their feelings felt on the live coverage of the game against Millwall tonight.
