‘Wrong’ – Liam Cooper fires back at Leeds fan on Twitter after backhanded insult
Liam Cooper has hit back at a Leeds United fan who delivered a backhanded insult to the side after their 1-1 draw with Brentford at Griffin Park.
It was a really solid performance from Leeds after two stinkers against Wigan and Nottingham Forest, and it should really have resulted in three points. But for a blunder from Kiko Casilla it probably would have.
The Leeds fan tweeted, “We actually showed some balls for first time in ages”.
Cooper replied strongly saying, “WRONG! One thing this team doesn’t lack is…” with a peanut emoji alongside it.
Some Leeds fans instantly replied to Cooper warning him about engaging on Twitter with one saying, “Coops. Do not read twitter. Absolute morons on here that haven’t a clue (I include myself). 2 years of great football and challenging. After 15 years of mediocrity this is great stuff. Now, get off twitter.”
That’s actually pretty good advice but we liked the tweet from Cooper.
We don’t think you could accuse Leeds of not being up for a fight this season.
The problems have been heavily documented and it’s scoring goals and conceding goals. Playing for the shirt has never been an issue.
It also shows that the Leeds players are watching things on Twitter, which will hopefully stop the more ’emotional’ fans from saying things they’ll regret.
As Cooper added to his tweet: ALAW.
