Alan Shearer has heaped praise on Leeds United midfielder Stuart Dallas after an “outstanding” performance against Man City on Saturday.

Dallas scored both goals in the 2-1 win in a game when Leeds were down to 10 men for more than half of the game.

Shearer also put Diego Llorente in his official Premier League Team of the Week, along with manager Marcelo Bielsa.

Writing on the Premier League website Shearer said of Dallas, “Wow. Outstanding. After helping to defend with 10 men for so long, he somehow still had the energy to run through and score the winner.”

On Llorente Shearer said, “He gave nothing away, stopping so many Manchester City moves.”

Leeds United

Player of the year

What a season Dallas has had.

We’d be surprised now if he doesn’t win the Player of the Year, despite Raphinha’s dazzling displays on the wing and Kalvin Phillips in the middle.

We’re absolutely stoked for Llorente as well.

He had a tough start to his Leeds career because of injuries but now he’s had a run in the side and has settled he’s starting to look like a really solid buy.

We think he’s now the first name on the team sheet in the centre of defence for Bielsa.

Liam Cooper is out for three games after his red card and it gives either Pascal Struijk or Robin Koch a real chance to stake their claim for the second spot in the side.

Koch and Llorente are the players we think Leeds will play most next season.
