‘World class’, ‘Sublime’ – Many Leeds fans blown away by ‘Perfect’ ace at HT v Chelsea

Leeds United got off to the perfect start against Chelsea in their Premier League clash on Saturday evening.

Despite being under pressure, the Whites took the lead in their first attack with Patrick Bamford taking the ball around Edouard Mendy to fire home.

It was a great finish, but it was the role of Kalvin Phillips that took home most of the plaudits for the opener.

Phillips got the ball, and after a couple of touches played the perfect pass in-behind Kurt Zouma for Bamford to finish.

The Yorkshire Pirlo has been phenomenal this season, but even he has taken it to another level since his return from the shoulder injury.

Against Everton, he covered the most distance, made the most recoveries and had the best passing numbers – but he has had a different role tonight.

Phillips was much more defensive apart from his role in the goal, and he started brilliantly in the first-half at Stamford Bridge, which finished 1-1.

Many Leeds fans have reacted to the first-half performance of Phillips against Chelsea, and it was no surprise to see him showered in praise once again.

The majority have singled out his pass as the best moment in the opening 45 minutes, with the Whites being forced to defend for the most of it.

One fan even suggested that Phillips is going to captain England at one point in his career, let’s take it one step at a time.
