Willy Gnonto injury update drops after Leeds United axe v Swansea City

Willy Gnonto has no injury despite being dropped for Leeds United against Swansea on Sunday, Graham Smyth has shared.

The Italian international was a surprise addition to the bench in South Wales on 24 November after a busy international break.

Manor Solomon and Dan James will start on the wings, with Largie Ramazani also returning to the bench alongside Gnonto for Daniel Farke.

Smyth wrote on X: “Understand there’s no knock for Gnonto.

“Rotation obviously expected with three games in such a short space of time but pressure is on Solomon now to repay Farke’s faith.”

This was the shock of the afternoon ahead of kick-off.

Although the Championship is about to enter its busiest period ahead of Christmas, some names in the side are usually considered untouchable.

Those would be Joe Rodon, Pascal Struijk and usually Gnonto – but a rest could be beneficial.

Of course, for Leeds fans to agree, three points must be collected with the likes of Solomon and James producing the magic that may be needed on a tough afternoon.

Solomon is the one who needs to prove himself, and this could be the chance he needs after an amazing break with Israel, where he helped them beat Belgium.

After a sizzling start to his loan spell from Tottenham, his injury came at the wrong time and he hasn’t recovered in time, but now is that time.

Gnonto will be raring to get back into the action off the bench, and if given the chance, he may respond instantly after a small reality check in South Wales.
