Will Ferrell reaction shared after Leeds United fans’ chant at Elland Road

Will Ferrell was spotted filming the crowd as Leeds United fans sang the Marching on Together chant at Elland Road on Saturday (14 September).

The American attended his first Leeds game since becoming a minority shareholder of the Whites, with Daniel Farke’s side facing Burnley, taking in the atmosphere at Elland Road.

Taking to X (14 September), journalist Graham Smyth shared: “Will Ferrell filming the South Stand singing Marching on Together. Did he and Leeds just become best friends?”

Fellow journalist Beren Cross also reacted to the moment via X, writing: “Ferrell grinning as he pans his phone around Elland Road’s rendition of Marching on Together.”

Will Ferrell falls in love with Leeds United at Elland Road

It is difficult for anyone new to Elland Road to not be astonished by the famous atmosphere, even before a ball is kicked on the field.

Elland Road is one of the most memorable atmospheres in the footballing world, let alone the UK, and Ferrell is just finding that out for himself after becoming a minority shareholder.

There is, of course, some excitement that has emerged with the Hollywood actor’s visit to West Yorkshire, especially when fans think about what kind of impact Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenny have had at Wrexham.

The hope is that Leeds can claim promotion to the Premier League at the second time of asking, which will truly let the world see just how impressive the Whites can be.

While Ferrell is unlikely to have much of an impact behind the scenes, the club could certainly benefit from the exposure moving forward, especially in terms of revenue.
