Wilfried Gnonto tipped to replace Daniel James in Leeds United XI v Swansea City

Wilfried Gnonto has been tipped to replace Daniel James in the Leeds United starting lineup for their clash with Swansea on Wednesday night.

The Whites host the Swans in an important Championship game, looking to bounce back from a disappointing 1-1 draw with Rotherham last time out.

And after that result the Yorkshire Evening Post are expecting that in-form winger James could drop out of the team, with Italian star Gnonto coming in to replace him in a shuffle of the forward line.

Positive

James has been in excellent form in recent weeks and his relationship with Crysencio Sumemrville, Joel Piroe and Georginio Rutter has seen him earn his place on the right wing.

But with so much depth and quality in the squad right now, any sort of dip in form can see you lose your spot and that could be the case now.

Gnonto has been chomping at the bit to return to the first-team fold after his hamstring injury a few months back, but the team’s form has been so good that he couldn’t get in.

Leeds United winger Dan James

He has made positive impacts from the substitutes bench and is deserving of a start if Farke is planning on making changes, although Jaidon Anthony would provide better balance on the right hand side.

If James is dropped then it’s no big deal and it would just prove that the standards at the club are very high.
