Wilfried Gnonto sends Leeds United fans wild after what he did v Coventry on Sky Sports
Harriet Prior was left wowed by Wilfried Gnonto’s goal for Leeds United against Coventry as she rewatched it on Sky Sports.
The Whites cruised to a 3-0 victory at Elland Road with Jayden Bogle and Joel Piroe adding to the goals, but it was Gnonto who sent the crowd noticeably wild in the first half.
Prior reacted to the goal live on Sky Sports [28 September] as the Leeds fans could be heard in loud voice with their side in the lead at Elland Road.
She said: “It was Junior Firpo who has looked so dangerous in the early stages down that left-hand side. He puts the ball in [after] a nice bit of build-up play in the run-up to this one and Wilfried Gnonto who gets the finish.
“I’m just watching it back now, it’s a lovely finish, beats the goalkeeper into the roof of the net and that has certainly give the Leeds United fans something to sing about.”
Wilfried Gnonto steps up for Leeds United
Leeds needed to capitalise on West Brom’s 3-2 loss to Sheffield Wednesday in the early kick-off and did exactly what was required with a vital win at Elland Road.
Daniel Farke has endured a hit-and-miss start to the season as his side reels from the losses of Archie Gray, Crysencio Summerville, and Georginio Rutter throughout the summer.
With Daniel James set for a spell on the sidelines until October and Manor Solomon suffering injury issues early into his Leeds career, Farke’s attacking options are dwindling.

Gnonto’s goal is only his second in seven appearances for the Whites this season, he will need to set up in the coming weeks and help the side ascend the Championship table and his strike against Coventry is a great way to start.
The Whites needed to send a statement of intent to their promotion rivals and Farke has delivered, the resounding victory at Elland Road will certainly boost the confidence within the club.
Leeds are now in fifth place in the league only two points behind West Brom in the top spot, it is now safe to say that Gnonto has revitalised the Whites’ promotion aspirations this season.
