'Wow', 'When did we sign Van Basten?' – These Leeds fans thrilled by one player v Huddersfield
Gjanni Alioski came back into the starting line-up for Leeds United on Saturday and he repaid manager Marcelo Bielsa with a thunder strike to break the deadlock in a tight Yorkshire derby.
The goal came early in the second half after Leeds had struggled to dominate the game in the first 45.
There were two key changes, with Kalvin Phillips suspended and Liam Cooper injured. That opened the door for Alioski and he got his third goal of the season, with Pablo Hernandez making the points safe after 77 minutes.
Leeds have Kiko Casilla to thank as well. He made a good save in the first half but made a phenomenal one from Elias Kachinga from point-blank range just after the hour mark.
Leeds could have had more. Patrick Bamford was unlucky not to score with his head, first after Stuart Dallas was flagged (wrongly) for offside and then from close range.
Today was all about Alisoki though. He’s back from injury and could well have forced his way back into the starting XI with his display.

His goal came from a corner, which makes it two corners in two games Leeds have scored from after really struggling from set-pieces this season.
It was also the second consecutive game Leeds had scored from outside the box after not managing one since the opening game of the season.
The Leeds fans were certainly grateful for his contribution, with one comparing it to that Yeboah strike… It maybe wasn’t that good but we’ll take it!
