Warnock loses mind over ‘incredible’ Illan Meslier moment in Leeds United clash v Arsenal
Stephen Warnock is refusing to defend Illan Meslier after the Leeds United goalkeeper gifted a goal to Arsenal on Sunday.
Eddie Nketiah put the Gunners ahead in the fifth minute after the ex-Leeds loanee made the most of a poor touch by 22-year-old Meslier.
Former Leeds defender Warnock feels that the mistake was down to Jesse Marsch trying to get his team to play it out from the back.

“Illan Meslier is an incredible shot stopper but you can’t defend him there,” said Warnock on BBC Radio 5 Live, as quoted on the BBC Sport website [8 May, 02:12pm].
“Put your foot through it, this is the problem when you get these managers or players who want to play out from the back so often.”
Warnock added: “I’m just astonished the way Leeds are approaching this game.
“They keep on trying to play out and they are caught again.”
Ridiculous
Meslier is only a young goalkeeper but he’s still made over 100 senior appearances in his career and should know better than to mistakes like that.
You simply cannot make errors like that at this stage.
What’s the point in taking a risk? Why not just hoof it up the pitch or at least hit the ball out wide and hope for the best.

Don’t just stand their and try to control the ball when you have an in-form striker in Nketiah closing you down.
Leeds’ afternoon was basically ruined five minutes after they kicked off because after that, there was no coming back.
Nketiah doubled his and Arsenal’s tally five minutes later and that’s essentially that for the Whites in the first of their final four Premier League games.
In other Leeds United news, this star player will quit Elland Road in the summer no matter what.
