‘Very good EFL; Best thing it’s ever done’ – Some Leeds fans react to latest Coronavirus update

After Thursday’s Cobra meeting to discuss the measures the UK would take to stem the spread of Coronavirus, the EFL released a statement saying that games will go ahead as planned this weekend.

Leeds fans are delighted with the news but we have to add a slight note of caution.

The situation is developing very fast and since the statement Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has tested positive for the virus and his squad was isolated. Their fixture against Brighton has been postponed and the Premier League are set to meet again on Friday.

In the EFL, Fulham are set to play Brentford in a game that could have big repercussions on the top-two spots on Friday night.

As we publish, this game is still set to go ahead, as is Leeds’ game against Cardiff on Sunday.

This is what the EFL had to say…

Given that, the majority of Leeds fans are extremely happy although the way the situation is developing, even if these fixtures go ahead, it seems like only a matter of time until restrictions are applied to the league.

In the meantime, though, here are the best reactions from Leeds fans who can’t believe the EFL has said something they like…

Not everyone is convinced that the positive news will stay the same over the weekend.

One fan said that the EFL would wait “until halftime on Sunday when we’re 2-0 up and suspend the league and void all further results until the season resumes.”

Another fan said he completely backed what the EFL was saying until Fulham and West Brom win and Leeds lose 1-0 at Cardiff.

One thing is certain… the end of the season was nervy enough as it was. Now Leeds have another enemy to focus on.
