Karney Carney was left awestruck with Leeds United and their opening goal against Leicester City on Sunday afternoon.
After conceding early, the Whites instantly responded when Stuart Dallas finished perfectly after Patrick Bamford played the ball in behind.
It was the start of the perfect away performance from Leeds, who went on to pick up all three points and score another two goals.
Speaking on BBC 5 Live Sport, Carney admitted that Leeds impressed her and their goal overshadowed the opener from Harvey Barnes.
“Clinical finish – it’s typical Leeds,” she said.
“If you thought the Leicester goal was good, the Leeds goal is even better. Maddison gives it away, and with the first touch it was glided into the bottom corner.”
If Carney was impressed by this one, she would have been amazed by the rest of the performance from the Whites.
Bamford was at the heart of most things good this afternoon, smashing home the second goal with great power, before unselfishly laying the ball on a plate for Jack Harrison to seal the points.
Leeds continue to prove themselves in the Premier League, and this was the first win against a top-six club this season, and they did it the Marcelo Bielsa way.
Carney didn’t make many fans with her previous remarks on the Whites, but all she could do was sit back and enjoy on Sunday – long may that continue.
