Three players out for Leeds in clash v Fulham as Bielsa shares triple update

Leeds United will be without Tyler Roberts, Jamie Shackleton and Adam Forshaw for the clash against Fulham at Craven Cottage this weekend.

Marcelo Bielsa confirmed in his pre-match press conference on Thursday that the three players will not be ready to play this week.

However he did add that Roberts and Shackleton should be available for selection next week when Leeds have two fixtures that see them take on Preston on Boxing Day and Birmingham on December 29.

The Athletic journalist Phil Hay was at Bielsa’s press conference and relayed what the Leeds manager said via his personal Twitter account:

Forshaw’s injury has been quite a worry.

The former Middlesbrough midfielder started the season well at Elland Road but has not been seen since September due to a hip injury.

There has never really been any clear update on when he is set to return and Bielsa still seems as though he has no idea about the player’s fitness.

Still, it is good news about Roberts and Shackleton.

Leeds are about to hit the busiest period of the season and Bielsa needs as many players fit and ready to play as possible.

Shackleton’s return will be especially important due to the Whites looking short of options in the centre of the midfield lately.

In other Leeds United news, ex-Whites ace Kyle Bartley has made an admission about his former club.
