'They would love us to fail, Teamtalk for Fulham' – Many Leeds fans pile onto official EFL tweet
There was massive disappointment for Leeds United fans on Saturday as they watched their side throw away a three-goal lead against Cardiff.
And there was more after an official EFL tweet posted late on Sunday night highlighted the Lee Tomlin assist that put Robert Glatzel in for the equaliser, completely ignoring the defence-splitting through ball by Pablo Hernandez for Leeds’ first.
Many Leeds fans piled onto the tweet to point this out to the EFL.
We’ll try and be objective.
The Hernandez pass was fantastic. The vision it took to pick that pass out was worthy of anyone in the Premier League, including Trent Alexander-Arnold and Kevin De Bruyne.
The pass was inch-perfect and weighted between two Cardiff players. It’s one of the best through balls we’ve seen all season.
The Tomlin flick was – let’s admit it – another moment of genius. However, it should never have reached Glatzel.
We’re not going to criticise youngster Pascal Struijk, who hadn’t been on the pitch long, but it probably shouldn’t have led to a goal.
Check the two assists out and see what you think. The Hernandez one is right at the start, the Tomlin one is at 1:35.
If you haven’t done so already, fast forward to 1:35 for one of the best assists you’re ever likely to see… 🤯 #EFL | @CardiffCityFC https://t.co/tj3MOk0liJ

The result leaves West Brom on top of the table but Leeds are still unbeaten in 11 games and 10 points clear of Preston in third. It’s important to keep hold of these facts. And the last time we lost was against Millwall when Gaetano Berardi was unfairly sent off and a penalty wrongly awarded against him.
The Cardiff game was a setback but not a huge one. It’s Fulham next at the weekend and that’s a massive game.
In the meantime, here are the Leeds fans kicking off at the EFL. What better way to start a Monday morning?

The lucky flick as opposed to the inch perfect defence splitting pass from Pablo Hernandez? 🤔

Yep, we should’ve won that easy but we didn’t. Still 10 points clear of third. Still unbeaten in 11 games, so thank you, it’s all coming along nicely! 💙💛😊

They would just love us to fail again. Let the little tinpot Welsh team have their moment.
I think the teamtalk is already done for the Fulham game— Sabella68 (@sabella68) December 15, 2019
There’s one right at the beginning 🤔🤔🤔
