Supercomputer predicts Sunderland vs Leeds United result in 23-year first
Leeds United will be hoping to continue their impressive Premier League form against Sunderland on Sunday.
Daniel Farke’s side are unbeaten in their last four games, picking up eight points in that time and propelling themselves clear of the relegation zone.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin can’t stop scoring, with the 28-year-old grabbing another brace as the Whites cruised to a 4-1 win over Crystal Palace on Saturday evening.
However, Leeds could see their recent run brought to a dramatic halt as they travel to the Stadium of Light to face Sunderland.
Sunderland favourites for Leeds United clash
Leeds are now six points ahead of 18th-placed West Ham in the Premier League, and have given themselves a real chance of avoiding relegation.
The Whites have been superb in recent weeks and have looked a completely different side since switching to a 5-3-2 formation.
However, Sunderland are in the midst of a dream first season back in the Premier League, and sit sixth in the table as the halfway point of the campaign closes in.
The Opta supercomputer is backing Regis Le Bris’ side to be too strong for Leeds, with the Black Cats given a 46.9 per cent chance of coming away with the win.

As for the West Yorkshire outfit, they have a 26.8 per cent shot of securing all three points, with the draw valued at 26.3 per cent.
Leeds have history on their side vs Sunderland
Leeds and Sunderland haven’t faced off in the Premier League in 23 years, since December 2002, with the Whites securing a 2-1 win at the Stadium of Light.
In fact, the West Yorkshire outfit have won eight out of the last 10 top-flight games against the Black Cats, giving Farke’s side the historical edge.
Last season, Leeds took four points off Sunderland on their way to winning the Championship title.
Pascal Struijk scored a 95th-minute winner at Elland Road back in February, with the two sides playing out a 2-2 draw at the Stadium of Light.
Leeds will be hoping that they can continue their good record against Sunderland this weekend and extend their Premier League unbeaten run to five games.
