Super Computer predicts Leeds United Premier League fate after Aston Villa win v Burnley

Leeds United are now predicted to avoid relegation by just one point after Burnley’s 3-1 defeat against Aston Villa on Saturday.

After the Clarets’ resurgence when they picked up 10 points in their last 12, they were expected to stay up and finish 16th.

Before their game against Villa, they were set for 38 points with Leeds on 37, but now things appear to have swung in the Whites’ favour.

FiveThirtyEight crunched the numbers on their Super Computer after the Villa result and Leeds are now expected to finish with just one more point than Burnley.

They’re poised to end up level with Everton, but lower than them due to their inferior goal difference.

Will take it

Leeds fans will take Premier League survival at any cost given how the season has panned out.

It started with numerous injuries and climaxed with the sacking of Marcelo Bielsa.

Nobody thought that it would be possible, but to everyone’s surprise, it did happen.

Jesse Marsch replaced him to steady the ship and he’s done a decent job so far but it counts for nothing.

Failure to keep the Whites in the top flight will lead to serious questions being asked about his credentials.

If he is to prove that he can rebuild this side then he needs to do whatever it takes to keep the club in the top flight.

Whether or not he succeeds, is anyone’s guess.

In other Leeds United news, the Whites could look to sign a ‘Phenomenal’ attacking midfielder this summer as he’s already bid farewell to fans of his club.
