Struijk missing, two changes – Leeds United confirmed XI v Hull

Daniel Farke has made two changes to his Leeds United starting line-up to face Hull City at the MKM Stadium on Saturday.

Sam Byram is not fit enough to start after picking up a knock in the 1-1 draw with Blackburn Rovers on Wednesday, 1 January.

Pascal Struijk, meanwhile, has surprisingly been left out of the matchday squad despite playing the full 90 minutes and scoring against Blackburn.

That means Ethan Ampadu and Max Wober have come into the starting lineup.

Illan Meslier plays in goal, with Joe Rodon and Wober operating as Farke’s centre-back pairing this afternoon.

Jayden Bogle continues at right-back despite being a fitness doubt, while Ampadu is likely to play at left-back in Struijk and Byram’s absence.

The rest of the team remains the same, with Joe Rothwell and Ao Tanaka keeping their places in the middle of the park.

There was a case to be made about Brenden Aaronson being given a rest, but Farke has decided to stick with the United States international.

Dan James and Manos Solomon will attack down the flanks, while Joel Piroe will lead the line for the West Yorkshire outfit.

It is worth noting that Byram has been named on the bench, but that is not the case with Struijk, whose omission was not expected at all.

Patrick Bamford is also nowhere to be seen, with Joe Gelhardt and Mateo Joseph named on the bench instead.
