Stephen Warnock tears into Leeds United attacker Raphinha

Stephen Warnock has slammed Leeds United attacker Raphinha for being a “passenger” in the loss to Everton on Saturday afternoon.

The Whites suffered an embarrassing 3-0 defeat against the Toffees in the Premier League.

The Brazilian was named in the playing eleven but was withdrawn by Marcelo Bielsa at the half-time interval.

During the first half, Sky Sports’ Warnock was on commentary on the Premier League world feed.

Discussing Raphinha, he said, “Raphinha’s been a passenger today. Not impressive at all given the state of the game.”

Shocker

Leeds were 2-0 down at half-time and Bielsa made the decision to take off his best player.

In Patrick Bamford’s absence, the Brazilian has been the club’s biggest goal scoring threat.

To see someone like Tyler Roberts come on for him was quite a big downgrade and as many expected, it was a gamble that did not pay off.

However, Warnock was spot on with his assessment about Raphinha.

He was a passenger throughout and even after switching to the left wing, he failed to have an impact on the game.

Things need to change quickly for Leeds may seriously be fighting for their lives in the coming weeks.

Clubs at the bottom tend to go on runs towards the back end of seasons and Leeds need to secure at least three or four more wins to be safe.

Whether or not Raphinha’s mind has been affected by the transfer rumours remains to be seen as he’s in contract extension talks currently.
