‘Staggering’ – Sky pundit predicts winner in high-scoring ‘shot-crazy’ Leeds v Man Utd clash

If Sky Sports pundit Lewis Jones is right then we’re in for an entertaining game at Old Trafford on Sunday when Leeds United lock horns with the old enemy.

Writing in his regular predictions column for Sky Sports, Lewis Jones said, “Well this one will be fun, fun, fun.”

He thinks Leeds are going to take the game to Man United and highlighted the number of chances Bielsa’s men have created this season saying it is a “staggering” achievement.

“Leeds have been involved in four of the top five games in terms of match shots this season (39,38,35,35),” Jones said.

“In fact, Leeds have created the most chances in the Premier League this season (151), which is a staggering achievement.

“Manchester United are at their best when given space to work in and aren’t afraid of being involved in shot-crazy games themselves (35 vs Newcastle, 34 vs West Ham).

“The most shots seen in any one Premier League over the past 10 years was when 52 was recorded as QPR beat Leicester 3-2 in 2014. That record could be under threat here.”

However, Jones has gone the wrong way, predicting a home win. He thinks the game will end 4-2 to Man United.

Stop the set pieces

Putting the score prediction aside for the moment, we literally couldn’t be any prouder that Leeds have gone to the Premier League and taken the game by the scruff of the neck.

So many promoted sides would go to Old Trafford meekly, with cap in hand.

Leeds are being predicted to go to Old Trafford and out-shoot Man United and we honestly believe that we’ve got a great chance of coming back with the three points.

Leeds have had an extra day’s rest ahead of the game on Sunday and Marcelo Bielsa said that his side had recovered properly from the game against Newcastle.

United ended up having a tough game against Sheffield United and Bruno Fernandes looked knackered when he was taken off.

Man United look like they’re going to be without Edinson Cavani, which is a boost.

Set pieces are the only concern but we know that Leeds will have been focusing on them this week at Thorp Arch.

Keeping Harry Maguire off the scoresheet could be the key to victory here. We’ll take 4-2 to the away side.
