Some Leeds fans gush over 'our best player' in 1-1 v Preston: 'Man of the match', 'Immense'

Leeds United fans have been gushing over Ezgjan Alioski for his performance in the 1-1 draw against Preston at Elland Road on Boxing Day.

Alioski, 27, was back in the starting line-up in the left-back position as Stuart Dallas was moved into the midfield to replace the injured Pablo Hernandez.

It was by no means a great display by Leeds as they dropped yet more points in the race for automatic promotion to the Premier League, but Alioski was certainly a stand-out player for the Yorkshire giants.

As always, the North Macedonia international never stopped running all game and he was so unlucky to have not got himself on the scoresheet.

He hit the post and came up against an in-form Declan Rudd in the Preston goal.

Alioski’s energy and drive is something that Leeds needed from their other players if they wanted to get a win out of that game because Preston’s high-press had a lot of Marcelo Bielsa’s men foiled from the very first minute.

Leeds fans were really impressed with the left-back and here are some of their tweets about him during the game:
