BBC journalist Adam Pope has predicted a thrilling 3-3 draw in the game between Leeds United and Everton on Saturday.
Pope does the commentary on BBC Radio Leeds but is an Everton fan.
However, he put his bias aside to deliver an objective prediction. He thinks either team could win it but is predicting a 3-3 draw with Patrick Bamford and Dominic Calvert-Lewin scoring.
Talking on the Roaring Peacock podcast Pope said, “I’m going to go 3-3 because I’m hoping and I genuinely think it could be a slugfest, two open sides.
“Scorers. I definitely thing Bamford will get one. Calvert-Lewin as well.
“3-3, DCL and Hat-trick Bamford to score.
“I’m not saying he’s going to get a hat-trick but I’ll predict some mad VAR decisions as well.
“Both teams have got players that can do a lot of damage.”
Raphinha could be the man
Bamford has had a fantastic start to the season, scoring seven goals in his first nine games in the top-flight for Leeds.
He should have had more. He had one brilliant goal chalked off for a ridiculous offside decision in the game against Crystal Palace.
And he’s missed a few big chances too.
We’re predicting goals in the game on Saturday as well. Both sides play expansive, attacking football, and both are struggling with their defences.
Everton have had Lucas Digne ruled out, too, which is a huge blow and could really open up the right flank for Raphinha.
We’re expecting him to start and for Rodrigo to come back in as the new Leeds signings start to make an impact in England.
