Sky Sports to broadcast must-watch Leeds United special after Stoke game on Thursday
There’s a big Leeds United double bill on Sky Sports on Thursday, starting with the all-important Championship game against Stoke (kick-off 5pm).
Three points is a must here after the rest of the top four won this week.
Brentford’s three points were the most painful as Thomas Frank’s side was losing at the drinks break in the second half.
One tactics board and 20 minutes later, Pontus Jansson’s side had turned that around.
They’re just three points off Leeds now but a win will take the Whites back to the top of the Championship. Let’s hope the bookies are right – they’ve got Leeds as short as 2/5 to win.
Coverage of the game starts at 4.30pm on Sky Sports Football and goes all the way through to 7.30pm.
That’s not the end of it for Leeds fans, though. Immediately after the game Sky are premiering a new documentary about the impact of Marcelo Bielsa at Elland Road.
Including interviews from the likes of Mauricio Pochettino and Pep Guardiola, the documentary looks at where Bielsa has come from and how he ended up falling in love with a city in the north of England.
The Bielsa effect
Bielsa put pen to paper on his contract at Elland Road on June 15, 2018, and while Leeds fans were excited, no one really knew what to expect.
Since then, though, he’s revolutionised the club and won his way into the hearts of fans right across the country.
Bielsa lives and breathes football and the photo of him after the QPR defeat last season, that put a big dent in the club’s promotion hopes, is etched into fans’ memories.
We don’t want to see him look like that again.
Through Spygate, the heartache of the play-offs and the FIFA Fair Play award, Bielsa’s first season was a rollercoaster and there was big celebration among fans when he signed for a second season.
If Leeds go up then we’re sure he’s going to stay for another season in the Premier League. If not… That’s just not worth thinking about at the moment.
Bielsa: El Loco & Leeds is on Sky Sports Football tonight at 7.30pm.
