Sky Sports pundit wowed by ‘absolutely brilliant’ Leeds ace footage v Watford

Leeds United look set to take a step closer towards automatic promotion if they can hold on to a 3-0 lead against Watford.

The Whites raced into a three-goal lead by the 35th-minute mark at Vicarage Road in a start which will have delighted Daniel Farke.

If the Elland Road outfit hold onto their lead then they will have a five-point margin on second-placed Sheffield United, who face Middlesborough on Wednesday (12 February).

They would also have an eight-point lead over third-place Burnley, who host Hull City tomorrow evening.

Sky Sports pundit stunned by Leeds United star Dan James

Jobi McAnuff was stunned as Dan James opened the scoring for the Whites in the 20th minute of the contest.

Speaking on Sky Sports News, (11 February, 20:06 pm), he said: “Watford will be really disappointed with how this goal has come about, Kayembe goes into midfield, plays a blind pass there, Dan James does absolutely brilliant.

“When he gets in there, brilliant composure, fantastic finish, that really has summed him up this season, just full of confidence every time he is on that football pitch.”

Leeds United could take major promotion step

The Whites could find themselves with a huge advantage in the promotion race if they hold on and their rivals fail to win tomorrow.

However, regardless of results elsewhere, Farke will ensure that they are focused on their own matches and doing what they need to do to secure a Premier League place next season.

If James can continue in this vein of form then they should have no problem doing just that, the Welsh international has notched ten goals and six assists in 26 Championship matches this campaign.

That includes four goals and three assists in his last five matches in the competition and if he can maintain his form then he could fire the Elland Road outfit to the promised land.

He has shown that he is still a Premier League quality player in recent weeks and he will be the key to Farke’s side achieving their goals this season with Mateo Joseph and Joel Piroe struggling to find form.

The Welsh international was linked with an exit in the winter transfer window but he is an indispensable member of the squad and must be kept even if interest is reignited in the summer.
