Sky Sports pundit wowed as footage of ‘exceptional’ QPR v Leeds moment emerges

Leeds United fell two goals behind against QPR before coming back to secure a draw on Saturday.

The Whites would have wanted to secure a positive result to maintain their position at the top of the Championship but failed to do so.

A Jayden Bogle tap in proved to be the point saving moment for Daniel Farke after a Morgan Fox own goal put his side one behind just minutes before half time.

The main talking point of the interval in Shepherd’s Bush was the R’s and their initial two goal lead which certainly caught the eye on Sky Sports.

David Phillips wowed by Steve Cook header v Leeds United

Once again it had looked like Farke had got it wrong and his side were going to fall to another defeat during the business end of the season.

Despite looking to be the better side at Loftus Road for large spells, silly errors crept in and gave Marti Cifuentes’ men an easy two goal advantage.

The second of the home side’s goals came through experienced defender Cook who was given far too much room inside the penalty area to head home.

The Whites made it easy for the former Bournemouth man but the quality of the header wasn’t wasted on former Manchester City midfielder Phillips.

Speaking live on Sky Sports+ (15 March, 01:01pm), he said: “You have to say it’s an exceptional header from Steve Cook. They work it well down that side.

Steve Cook goes towards the six yard box then pulls away, he’s completely unmarked. He’s having to put a lot of pace on the header because there’s not a lot on the cross.”

Leeds fail to win once again v QPR

Farke’s men just needed to secure a positive result away from home to open a gap up to Sheffield United in second.

The Blades are preparing for a Steel City Derby against Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough on Sunday (16 March), which could easily go either way.

As it happens, the Whites have now moved just three points clear of Chris Wilder’s side with just eight games remaining in the Championship season.

Leeds have still managed to put pressure on their nearest league rivals and they close in on a place in the Premier League.

Regardless of this, results will need to pick up in the coming weeks as a clash against Swansea City at Elland Road awaits.
