Sky Sports pundit blown away by Joel Piroe after what he did in Leeds United 4-0 win v Swansea
Leeds United attacker Joel Piroe showed “really good professionalism” in the 4-0 victory against Swansea City.
That is according to Sky Sports pundit Sam Parkin after the Whites ace was drafted into the starting XI just before kick-off after Patrick Bamford was injured in the warm-up.
Piroe went on to score and play 87 minutes against his former club in the Championship victory on Tuesday (13 February).
“It was probably a different evening to the one that he was maybe expecting given that he was probably going to be on the bench for large portions,” Parkin said live on Sky Sports Action (10.33pm, 13 February).
“So really good professionalism, stepping into the breach and performing so admirably, especially in that first half. He then had a little look in at the number 10 position after all those substitutions. He’s been a valuable asset for Leeds this season.”
Leeds United ace steps up
Piroe was one of a number of attacking stars to light up South Wales on Tuesday night, with the forward showing no signs of not wanting to cause an upset at his former club.
He buried his current club’s second goal of the night after just 10 minutes, two minutes after Crysencio Summerville had opened the scoring.
Wilfried Gnonto then bagged a double to secure the three points, with the Whites now sitting second in the Championship table after their superb display on the road.
That position was helped massively by Southampton suffering a shock 3-1 defeat at Bristol City at the same time that Leeds were running riot against Swansea. The Saints, who are now third, are two points behind Daniel Farke’s side, although they do have a game in hand.

Leicester City meanwhile remain well clear at the top of the table, with the Foxes defeating Sheffield Wednesday 2-0 at the King Power Stadium, also on Tuesday.
In other Leeds United news, a journalist has issued a January transfer admission over one Whites star, with an Elland Road exit prediction made.
