Sheffield United fans slammed as ‘Pathetic’ live on BBC after what they did to Bogle
Jon Newsome was left unimpressed by Sheffield United fans as they targeted Jayden Bogle at the start of their Championship clash against Leeds United.
Bogle made the switch to Elland Road in the summer as he entered the final year of his contract at Bramall Lane.
Since then, the Englishman hasn’t looked back as the Whites have enjoyed a superb Championship campaign.
However, each time he’s faced his old club this term, there’s been a bit of hostility and Monday’s game at Bramall Lane was no different.

Newsome dubs Sheffield United fans ‘pathetic’
The two Yorkshire clubs went into half-time of their clash with the score sitting at 1-0 to Sheffield United, with both sides getting their fair share of chances.
The Blades were the ones on the front foot for most of the first 45 minutes, with Tyrese Campbell helping to net the opener for Chris Wilder’s men after the ball was fumbled over the line by Illan Meslier.
Team | Position | Points |
Sheffield United | 1st | 73 |
Leeds United | 2nd | 72 |
However, it was the chants from the Blades’ fans that were directed towards Bogle at the start of the game which left Newsome rather unhappy.
The former Leeds and Sheffield Wednesday man made his thoughts more than known while commentating live on BBC Radio Leeds [24 February, 8:01pm]
“That’s pathetic. It doesn’t surprise me, though,” he said of the chants aimed Bogle’s way from the home stands.

Leeds United need to do better in second half
Monday’s game against Wilder’s men could end up being the most important of Leeds’ season.
The Whites have been one of the best teams in the second tier this term, but when they’ve come up against a team with a similar quality to the Blades, they’ve not been at their best.
Players such as Dan James failed to make the most of the chances they were handed and the ever-formidable Joe Rodon seemed lost at sea.
If Leeds intend to retain their status as automatic promotion favourites to the Premier League, they’re going to have to turn things up a gear or two.
Otherwise, United could leave Bramall Lane with all three points to their name and some much-needed momentum as we head into the final third of the campaign.
Only time will tell what the future holds but at the moment, the Whites are being overrun in every single area on the pitch.
