‘Shadow of himself’, ‘Sad to see’ – Some Leeds fans slam one player despite win v Bristol City
Football fans are hard to please, as Pablo Hernandez will find out if he searches his name on Twitter tonight.
Leeds secured the three points with a 1-0 win at Elland Road in a game where they totally dominated Bristol City.
Luke Ayling got the goal in the 16th minute and Leeds should have had more. A lot more.
The second half was a more even affair as Bristol City came back into it, but Leeds were still the better side and Patrick Bamford and Helder Costa both missed big chances to finish the game off.
Quality in the final third has been the problem this season and it meant today’s game was way more nervy than it should have been.
One issue is that Pablo Hernandez – normally the standout creative force for Leeds – just hasn’t looked at his best for a few games now.
He’s the player who you can normally rely on to pull out a bit of magic but it wasn’t there at Elland Road for the veteran today.
He started off very well but faded as the game went on and that was noticed by plenty of Leeds fans on Twitter, although we think some of the verdicts are somewhat harsh.
He worked hard and was part of a team that showed they’re up for the fight.
Here are the reactions to Pablo from the Leeds fans this afternoon…

Not everyone felt the same way.
Some fans actually thought that Hernandez had a great first half.
We wouldn’t quite go that far but he was definitely better in the first 45.
At 34, it could be that he’s going to struggle to do the full 90 minutes in games for much longer.
