Sam Byram injury update as Leeds star hooked off early v Luton, Farke has chat
Sam Byram didn’t appear to be injured when he was substituted off early as Leeds United beat Luton Town 3-0 on Wednesday night, according to Beren Cross.
Byram, 31, was replaced by Max Wober in the 59th minute at Elland Road, with LeedsLive journalist Cross reporting via his personal X account that there was “no sign of a limp”.
The Leeds full-back – who scored his side’s opening goal with an acrobatic scissor kick – had a “brief discussion” with manager Daniel Farke before taking his place on the bench.
Sam Byram escapes injury as Leeds United stroll to victory
Leeds fans will be delighted to see Byram’s substitution wasn’t down to any injury.
Obviously there could be something that was unseen to those who were watching on but it seems very unlikely with Farke likely taking the full-back off to keep him fresh ahead of a gruelling run of fixtures in December.
Byram has been superb for the Whites in recent weeks.
His goal against Luton was his 13th for the Yorkshire club and his second since returning to Elland Road in August of last year.

Wober, 26, replaced Byram and there’s a good chance that Farke wanted to give him a run out as much as he did want to give Byram the rest of the night off.
He only played a handful of minutes in that one but got a good half-an-hour against Luton as he continues to return to full match fitness after undergoing knee surgery.
