Roy Keane lets rip at ‘shocking’ Leeds United live on Sky Sports after 5-1 loss v Crystal Palace

Roy Keane was furious with Leeds United following their 5-1 loss to Crystal Palace on Sunday, saying they were “shocking” while issuing them a warning.

The Whites took the lead through Patrick Bamford before being pegged back on the stroke of half-time by Marc Guehi. A shocking second half then saw them capitulate and concede goals to Jordan Ayew (2), Ebere Eze and Odsonne Edouard.

The result leaves Javi Gracia’s side two points above the relegation zone, but while appearing as a pundit on Sky Sports (9 April, 15:55) the former Manchester United captain felt that they “gave up” at the end.

“Leeds are shocking, actually very, very poor, far too open,” he said.

“Leeds have got to be careful with their goal difference. A team could go down this year with their goal difference, it’s that tight.

“So just to give up so many goals and chances at the end, really poor from Leeds. Poor discipline.”

Woeful

Keane is the last man that any Leeds fan wants to hear from after a game like that, but he was absolutely spot on here.

The team were far too open and after a fantastic first half, they just totally collapsed and refused to adjust to the changes Crystal Palace made.

We were carved open time after time and the players just didn’t react, ultimately conceding five goals in front of the home fans where we’re supposed to be at our best and most dangerous.

With the bottom of the league being so tight right now, we simply can’t afford to have periods in games like that where we just disappear because goal difference could be crucial to staying up.

We have goals in our team, but if we’re conceding five we are not going to win games and that means we are not going to get points on the board to save ourselves from trouble.
