Rodrigo left fuming after Leeds substitution v Chelsea – Presenter

The draw between Leeds United and Chelsea had everything but a goal in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

It was an end-to-end encounter full of controversial moments at Elland Road, and none more so than record signing Rodrigo.

After replacing an injured Patrick Bamford in the first half, the Spanish international was then hauled off once again in the second half.

Marcelo Bielsa has done that before against Sheffield United earlier in the season, but the reaction of Rodrigo was completely different on this occasion.

TV Presenter Matt Critchley reacted to the decision on his personal Twitter account, claiming that the forward stormed straight down the tunnel at Elland Road.

“Rodrigo straight down the tunnel didn’t look injured,” he said.

“Not a happy camper.”

It did seem a strange decision.

Just before the decision to take him off, Rodrigo was sprinting after loose balls and even missed a golden chance with a free header from a corner.

Bielsa must have seen something tactically that needed changing, as they were clearly no injuries, fingers crossed there wasn’t anyway.

With Bamford potentially injured for some weeks now, this is a huge opportunity for Rodrigo to prove himself in that central role for the Whites.

Everyone will have expected more from the club-record signing after he arrived from Valencia in the summer, and this anger must be transferred onto the pitch.

With Fulham coming up next on Friday, it should be a brilliant opportunity for him to create numerous chances and get himself back on the scoresheet, forgetting about this decision.
