Robert Green: Raphinha finish v West Ham was deadly
Robert Green was impressed by Raphinha’s goal for Leeds United against West Ham on Sunday.
The Whites suffered to another league defeat despite having a chance to win when the 24-year-old gave them the lead in the first half.
In the first half of the contest, the Brazilian attacker was the one to break the deadlock with a well-placed finish into the bottom-left corner, leaving Lukasz Fabianski with no chance to reach it.
Speaking on Premier League’s world feed, Green said, “I really enjoyed this goal. It’s Leeds United all over.
“Raphinha had a warmup shot moments ago and now this. He is deadly from that distance.”
Raphinha may have done this plenty of times before but whenever he does, we cannot help but watch and wax his lyrical.
He gives this Leeds attack something very few players in the past have, and it’s great to see him thrive in for the Whites.
Last summer, he made a big decision to not play Champions League football at Rennes and instead move to West Yorkshire and represent Marcelo Bielsa’s side.
It’s fair to say that he’s made the right decision and has already become a cult hero at the club.
Marcelo also appreciates what he brings to the table which is why he’s one of the first names on his team sheet.
We’re hoping he continues to deliver these kinds of performances and thrills the Elland Road faithful.
