Leeds United crashed to an embarrassing defeat in their opening Premier League clash of the season against Manchester United this afternoon.

Bruno Fernandes scored three as the Whites crumbled in the second half after a Luke Ayling screamer.

Robin Koch was placed in the Kalvin Phillips role after he started on the bench, and he was completely rinsed by Rio Ferdinand.

Speaking during live coverage of the clash on BT Sports, Ferdinand was far from impressed by the German international, especially the opening goal.

"For Koch to actually turn off, switch off there on the most dangerous, the most lethal player in the Premier League is criminal," he said.

Shocker.

We need to stop experimenting with defenders in midfield.

Every time it happens, the outcome is simply embarrassing and there is no excuse to continue with that going forward.

Koch's positioning was shocking for nearly every single goal conceded, and it let Fernandes have the freedom of Old Trafford all afternoon.

Using Phillips' lack of training to bench him is simply an excuse, and Marcelo Bielsa simply got it wrong.

The Yorkshire Pirlo has to be back in the side next week, and there will be changes as we look to bounce back as soon as possible.

Koch either plays in defence, or he shouldn't play at all, that should be plain as day to Bielsa, who must stop these rubbish experiments.
