'Ridiculous', 'Don't stand a chance' – Many Leeds fans fume at EFL update for clash v Bristol C

Leeds United fans felt their side turned a corner at Griffin Park on Tuesday but now they’re fearing the worst as they look forward to hosting Bristol City on Saturday.

The EFL has announced Tim Robinson as the match referee and he was the man who gave Fulham that controversial penalty in the 2-1 defeat in December.

Contact from Ben White was minimal at best but Robinson gave the spot-kick that Aleksandar Mitrovic put away in the seventh minute of the game.

Kalvin Phillips talked about the incident afterwards saying, “It’s quite difficult at the moment, with their first goal. There’s a lot of controversy about it, but we can’t say too much about that.”

There are plenty of Leeds fans who are saying a lot about it now and plenty are saying the same thing – that Robinson owes Leeds one.

What Leeds certainly don’t need is another bad decision from a referee that one fan called “inept”.

It’s got incredibly tight at the top after the results this week and while West Brom have pulled away six points clear at the top, Fulham (third) are now on the same points as Leeds (second) with Bristol City just three points back in seventh.

If you want to hear something positive, Robinson reffed Leeds four times last season and the results were three wins and a draw.

However, after his display in December, Leeds fans are obviously concerned about the EFL appointment and have made their feelings very clear on Twitter…
