Lee Hendrie slams Leeds United live on Sky Sports despite 2-1 win v Watford
Lee Hendrie wasn’t impressed by Leeds United despite them winning 2-1 against Watford at Elland Road on Tuesday night.
Goals from Largie Ramazani and Brenden Aaronson gave the Whites a 2-0 lead inside seven minutes before a second-half consolation would follow for Watford.
However, despite the win, Hendrie expressed his disappointment at Leeds’ performance as they spent most of the second period seeing off the Hornets and trying to see out their victory.
Speaking on Sky Sports+ on Tuesday night (22 October), Hendrie said: “Leeds have been nowhere near their best. I suppose they haven’t had to be, they’ve been handed two goals if you like.
“Yes, I know you have to be in the right areas, you have to press and put balls in certain areas you feel like Watford have had really good spells of play.”
Towards the latter stage of the game, he added: “I’ve been really disappointed with Leeds. After having that frantic start, they haven’t really got going after that, have they?”
Positive result and a poor performance is a good sign for Leeds United
While a good performance certainly looks good, football is a results business and when a team is able to secure three points while not playing particularly well, it is usually a very good sign.

Leeds’ victory against Watford is the type of game you must win if you are to have serious ambitions of achieving promotion and it provides a huge platform for Farke’s side to build from.
The Whites were gifted two goals down to errors from Watford ‘keeper Daniel Bachmann and didn’t look overly threatening outside of those incidents.
A return to action for Dan James is also a huge positive to take from their encounter with Watford, with the Welshman looking sharp coming off the bench.
Nonetheless, the win took Leeds United to joint top of the Championship, albeit having played an extra game over the likes of Sunderland, Sheffield United and Burnley who could all leapfrog the Whites depending on their results on Wednesday (23 October) night.
In other Leeds United news, Gareth Ainsworth was stunned after a Daniel Bachmann error gifted Leeds United an early goal in their game against Watford.
