'Probably he'll play' – Bielsa delivers team news for Leeds trip to Reading

Marcelo Bielsa has said that his Leeds United squad for Reading will be the same 18 players from the win against Luton on Saturday.

Talking in his pre-match press conference from Thorp Arch on Monday (live in the LUFC app, 12.30pm), Bielsa was quizzed about his team for Tuesday night.

“It’s going to be the same group of players, there is nothing new to say,” Bielsa replied.

The good news is it means Leeds have no new injury problems with just long-term injured players Adam Forshaw and Eddie Nketiah unavailable for selection.

Bielsa confirmed that Nketiah would start full training this week.

“Next Thursday he’s going to train with the group,” Bielsa said. “From there we’ll see how he’s going.”

There’s an Under-23s game next Monday and we imagine that Nketiah will get a run out there before possibly being in contention for the game against Huddersfield the following Saturday.

As far as the team for Reading goes, we’re still expecting Liam Cooper to come in for Gaetano Berardi if he’s fully fit. Cooper seemed fine when he came on against Luton and Berardi struggled.

That was confirmed by Bielsa later on in the press conference when he said Cooper would “probably” play.

“Probably he’ll play,” Bielsa said. “I’m not 100% sure but he will probably play. Today he has trained and we’ll see how he is tomorrow but if he doesn’t start Berardi will start and he has played well.”

It seems that Pablo Hernandez is set for another start after Bielsa said he played an “important’ match for Leeds on Saturday. That will see Helder Costa on the bench again.

Bar Cooper, we’re not expecting any changes to the starting line-up.
