Premier League release statement after incident in Leeds United draw vs Chelsea
Leeds United came back from two goals down to secure a 2-2 draw against Chelsea in the Premier League on Tuesday.
Stamford Bridge welcomed Daniel Farke’s team on 10 February, with the Whites enduring a disappointing first half but putting up a real fight after conceding the second goal at around the hour mark.
Joao Pedro opened the scoring for Chelsea against Leeds in the 24th minute and was a constant threat throughout, subsequently winning a penalty that Cole Palmer converted with ease.
The West Yorkshire outfit then put up a fight to get a point on the road, with Lukas Nmecha and Noah Okafor getting on the scoresheet to leave the travelling supporters delighted.

Jayden Bogle handball call dismissed in Leeds United controversy vs Chelsea
For Leeds’ second goal, Jayden Bogle seemed to have handled the ball in the build-up, leading to a scramble in the Chelsea box before Okafor slotted the ball in the back of the net.
Robert Jones initially awarded the goal despite protests from the players wearing blue, and VAR subsequently upheld the on-field decision.
While there was some hint of the ball hitting the English defender’s arm, Stockley Park confirmed there wasn’t any infraction.
Writing on X on 10 February, the Premier League Match Centre’s statement said, “The referee’s call of goal to Leeds was checked and confirmed by VAR — with there deemed to be no handball offence by Bogle in the build-up.”
Liam Rosenior was always the favourite against Farke, but the German manager has repeatedly shown his ability to turn things around when the going gets tough.
The Peacocks are still not safe from relegation, and every point from now till the end of the season will be pivotal for them.
Daniel Farke makes one clear blunder at Stamford Bridge
Sebastiaan Bornauw has struggled for regular game time at Leeds, but Farke had to call upon him due to Pascal Struijk’s unavailability.
The Belgian defender struggled in the opening 45 minutes, committing a few fouls and failing to pick up Pedro before the striker scored.
Normally, the German manager is good at making changes at half-time, but didn’t think that was necessary at Stamford Bridge, but eventually played James Justin in a more central position and pushed Bogle to right-wing-back after replacing Bornauw with Okafor.
The grit and desire the West Yorkshire outfit have shown time and again will encourage fans at Elland Road to dream of securing their Premier League status beyond this season.
