Premier League make official announcement for 20/21 season as Leeds set to hit top-flight

Leeds United fans can’t wait for the new Premier League season to kickoff. 16 years in the wilderness means excitement levels will be hitting critical levels on Saturday, September 12.

And the Premier League has started to ramp up the excitement themselves with the first sight of the ball that Bielsa will be hoping to make his own.

In a Twitter post on Wednesday morning, the Premier League unveiled the Nike Flight ball and said that it delivers “pace, precision and explosiveness”.

That’s a pretty good description for Leeds under Bielsa and fans will be hoping that the new Nike Flight will soon be re-christened Bielsaball.

We love the look of it – striking red, black and white colours and a nice understated design – and we definitely prefer it to the 19/20 Merlin ball.

20/21 – the new normal

It’s not going to be a normal Premier League season by all accounts.

It’s been announced that there won’t be any fans in stadiums ahead of October 1, and after then it’s possible the rest of the season will be played in front of heavily reduced numbers of supporters.

It’s also been reported that the start of the 20/21 season could be staggered, depending on how Wolves, Man United, Man City and Chelsea get on in their respective European competitions.

However, the main thing is that Leeds will be competing in the top-flight again and just the sight of the ball has got the goosebumps rising again.

Fans or no fans at Elland Road (and we hope it’s the latter, at least for the majority of the season), we’re going to enjoy the next season. In Bielsa we trust.
