Predicted starting XI V Barnsley

It’s normally easy to predict a Marcelo Bielsa starting XI but, after the international break, we can see him making three changes for the visit to Barnsley on Sunday.

The 1-0 defeat against Swansea, with the old problems surfacing of not finishing chances, surely means Bielsa has to try something different.

It’s not like he hasn’t got options and both Helder Costa and Eddie Nketiah should get their first Championship starts on Sunday.

They’ve already shown they work well together, with Costa providing two tap-in goals for the young Arsenal loanee.

We also think Barry Douglas will come back in for Ezgjan Alioski on the left.

It’s entirely possible that Bielsa names an unchanged line-up in his press conference tomorrow, but we’re hoping that he’s learnt that you need to adapt in the Championship. There’s no point having players like Costa and Nketiah if you’re not going to use them. And now would seem like the right time.
