Predicted Leeds starting XI v West Brom

There will be a lot of Leeds fans who want to see Marcelo Bielsa make changes for the Baggies game after the 1-0 defeat to Charlton on Saturday.

However, with injury news from today’s press conference confirming that Pablo Hernandez is out and that Adam Forshaw is also likely to be missing, we actually think Bielsa will name an unchanged line-up.

That means Patrick Bamford leading the line again despite blanking in his last four games.

However, that might not be such a bad thing.

The game against West Brom should be different and it should be just the game the players need after losing to Charlton.

Opponents seem to have sussed Leeds out a bit this season. They’re happy to sit back and keep things tight, and trust that we won’t take the chances that we’re creating.

That worked for Lee Bowyer on Saturday.

However, West Brom are top of the league and we think they’ll attack at Elland Road. That should play into our hands and it should also mean Bielsa trusting Bamford, who knows our system better.

Yes, he’s blanked in the last four, but Eddie Nketiah was given 45 minutes against Charlton and he didn’t score either. If it comes down to a 50/50 decision, Bielsa will always keep faith with the players that played before. And in this instance, we actually won’t mind seeing an unchanged line-up.
