Leeds United made 11 changes to their side for the Carabao Cup clash with Hull City on Wednesday evening.

The Whites handed full debuts to both Rodrigo and Charlie Cresswell at Elland Road, with a number of academy players also featuring.

It didn’t start well though, with former player Malik Wilks handing the away side an early lead with a deflected strike for the League One side.

A last-minute goal from Ezgjan Alioski sent the game to penalties, although the Whites crashed out after the spot-kicks.

Not many impressed on the evening, with the likes of Oliver Casey being dragged off at half time after struggling in the holding midfield role.

One of those to be brought in was Ian Poveda, who caught the eye towards the end of the Championship title-winning season.

The former Manchester City winger impressed against Derby and Charlton and did the same against Hull – especially in the second half.

Graham Smyth was at the game and claimed that the 20-year-old was one of the few Leeds players coming out of the clash with credit.

Many Leeds fans have reacted to the performance of Poveda, with the majority claiming he was the only one who could leave the game with his head held high, despite the victory.
